It's Always About Oil, Isn't It?

A Touch of Crude

  1. It doesn't suprise me to see wars fought for natural resources, it doesn't suprise me to see diplomacy to jockey for natural resources. When I was living in Santa Cruz some numb head said we should never fight wars for oil so I asked why we should ever fight wars. The response was never, which is commendable. When I asserted that most wars have been fought over natural resources this paste eater asked me to name one. So I named a half dozen just in this century. The lady was shocked, dumbfounded. When I noticed this lady who was spouting her ideology was so ignorant to world history I brought up the water diputes between Arizona and California at the turn of the 20th century. You should have seen the smoke coming out of her ears when I pointed out that Arizona and California almost went to war against each other just a hundred plus years ago.

We need to work on alternative energy. Both parties are taking money form the oil industry so I don't see it happening anytime soon, say unless we run out of oil or by some miracle we actually elect a person of principle.
