Excuse Me?

Did I forget something? I could have sworn that the voters in California got rid of the governor that used the "Pay to Play" method of governance...

Gov.'s Top Aides' Pay Bolstered by Donors
Schwarzenegger has paid at least four of his advisors substantially for their work on his campaigns. Critics fear conflicts of interest."
Oh, really?

"...Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has supplemented the salaries of at least four of his top government aides with private campaign money, a practice that means a piece of their overall pay has come from donations by corporations and others that do business in the Capitol. Schwarzenegger set up a standing agreement in which three present and former aides received a monthly $5,000 check from his political accounts to moonlight as campaign aides, on top of what they earned in salary as government employees, the governor's office said..." Sweet deal!

  1. Keep in mind that many state agencies (CA Fish and Game for one) get funded by money from special interest as well. Fish and game pays the salaries of wardens, biologist, etc with money from conservation/hunting groups such as California Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation, etc. I was outraged while a Chapter president for the NWTF because I was told to give free dinners to Fish and Game big whigs. I refused on principle, why charge the hard working guy and his family $70.00 bucks a dinner and then give some career government employee a free meal. I know it was all to gain favor and Fish and Game inacts rules that and runs programs that benefit the NWTF, CWA, etc. The problems is what happens win PETA, ALF, and others realize that they can get anti-hunting iniatives passed by lining pockets.
