As I Was Saying

And speaking of the acting governor; this reminds me of an article I read yesterday concerning healthcare costs and Arnold’s plan to make health insurance coverage mandatory. Currently we have about 20% of the population without medical insurance; that’s approximately 6.25 million people. The conservative mindset says that all of these people are without coverage because they don’t want to pay for it; they would rather scam us; the good folks. There is never any blame laid on the fact that healthcare insurance costs too much. And there is rarely any discussion about the fact that healthcare providers and insurance companies seem to have developed a very cozy and profitable relationship.

We really don’t have to look very far to see how well this mandatory plan will work; simply look at the mandatory automobile insurance plan in the state. That was supposed to drive the costs of insurance down. Has it worked for you?
