World War II Photographs

As you may know, I do love old photos!

  1. Interesting photos, but they give me a very bad feeling. In 1967-68 I lived in Rouen, France. There are three major towns on the Seine, Le Havre, Rouen and Paris. I'm guessing that some of those photos might be of Rouen. The Americans bombed the c*** out of Rouen during WWII. In 1967 you could still see the results. I talked to residents who were living there at the time. Living in a city being bombed, even if it is by "Allies", is no picnic. I got that message loud and clear when I lived there.

  2. I'm wrong, they're pictures taken of the Rhine not the Seine. But they still give me a bad feeling.

  3. You're right of course; it's easy to forget that these black and white images were once very real.
