Jobless

Benefit Extension Blocked by House Vote : NPR

It all makes sense if you think like a legislator. Once you are no longer eligible for benefits, you are dropped from the statistics. Instantly, the unemployment figures look much better! It's a miracle!

  1. According to some experts the real unemployment figures are 9% or more. And the inflation rate is much higher than the government reports because they eliminate the price of food and energy when figuring the consumer price index. So, although we are finding it increasingly difficult to buy gas and groceries our government assures us that inflation is under control. One reason to lie about the inflation is to avoid cost of living increases to those on social security.

  2. Ah, what a tangled web they weave...

Luckily, those of us who are retired and living on Social Security have no need for food or gasoline and therefore we have no need for a COLA. It all makes sense if you think like a legislator.
