Since we received our obscene power bill, I have upped the fan speed on the overhead fans in an effort to make it seem cooler. We already have the thermostat set to 85° for our daytime/nighttime temperature with a few hours’ morning and night at 78° to cool things off. I think it all adds up to 18 hours at 85° and 6 hours at 78°. Luckily for us, we’re able to afford it. But what about those elders that can’t? I know, I know…it’s their own darned fault. If they had paid attention in school, 50 years ago, they could have made wise choices in their retirement plans.
