We had to go in to Chico this morning; certainly didn't want to after looking at the sky. The smoke had turned the day into dusk, a brown dusk. And ash was falling everywhere. We stopped at the Plant Barn for a bit and found that they were going to close for the day. Too gloomy for gardening!
We cut our Chico visit short and came back home ...to more of the same. Hack! Cough! We both have headaches and raspy throats, but the good news is that it didn't get quite as hot as expected because of the thick smoke covering the valley. Yippee!
