The Plan

to Shift Military Spending Faces Skepticism - NYTimes.com:

"opponents of his risk assessment are attacking the spending plan as rendering America unprepared for traditional war."

Ah! 'Traditional' war! And would that be the kind of war where each side uses swords and spears? No? It used to be. Or is it the the kind of war where everyone lines up in neat rows and someone blows a bugle before killing each other? Is that another no? Trench warfare? No? Let's see then...how a big old bomb that simply kills everyone. We wouldn't have to worry about traditions after that one!

Or, why don't we create a new tradition? No war. Concentrate our energy on waging peace...it's never been tried before.
