From the New Yorker

Calling All Eccentric California Zillionaires

Oh, no! Repair California is out of money and won't be able to get the Constitutional Convention on the ballot in November. Sad. But...I never saw a single plea for money on the internet. I didn't see anything remotely like the p[ledge drives for money for disasters. What were they thinking? That we would know about their needs intuitively? Even their website, doesn't mention money unless you look all of the way down at bottom.

This is the first sane initiative we've seen in years and it's sad to see it fail to get on the ballot. But it falls on whoever was telling them how to run a campaign.
