Once again

We fall behind. The US of A has fallen to 49th place in life expectancy. Ten years ago we were in 19th place. And during those ten years (7 under a Republican Administration) we spent more per year on health care than any other nation. Facts don't lie. Yet we seem poised to elect Republicans to high office once again. Are we stupid as well as in poor health?

  1. Yes, actually, we are as stupid as well as in poor health. And I think we are getting more stupid by the hour.

  2. It defies logic, doesn't it?

    Just a few minutes ago I started reading the latest issue of Mother Jones and now I'm certain we're stupid. The editorial is fact filled and we fail...

  3. We may be stupid BECAUSE we are in poor health. Or vice versa. Don't they understand that the new healthcare bill will make a difference in this ranking?

  4. Nance;
    I think you're onto something. Poor health causes stupidity while stupidity causes poor health. Circular logic but I like it.

  5. Nance, are you running for office? That may be the smartest thing I've heard in a while. And it is true. Poor health (caused by no money for preventative healthcare) combined with poor nutrition, combined with excessive fear (some children IN THIS COUNTRY have PTSD) causes stupid.

    In this country. The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

    Sad.
