Time is flying, it’s already the middle of March…officially it’s still winter though you wouldn’t know it around here. I think it got up to 78 or 80 yesterday and I wore my shorts for the first time this year. I love it! And the trees and flowers are getting ahead of themselves once more, with blossoms everywhere. This brings up the subject of the ‘missing’ bees.
The local newspaper has had more than a few articles on the subject of bees as they are so important to the local economy. Almonds don’t appear on the trees without the bees working on pollinating. There are hives everywhere this time of year. And apparently not all of the hives are thriving; with reports that some 30 to 60 percent of the bees are missing. Unlike the bees, there doesn’t appear to be any shortage of politicians running for president these days. Scary! And we should all promise to keep a diary of what each one says. It’s just a matter of using cut and paste and a simple Word document. Then, when the rhetoric becomes heated sometime next year, you can reference their words from 2007 and compare them to what they are proclaiming in 2008. From what I’ve read so far,
And there’s this news as well…
