Obama is being criticized for not going earlier...but wait. No matter who goes and when, they will only see what someone else wants them to see. It's not as if they can drop into the local Hertz dealer, get a car and go see what's up. Remember McCain's visit to the marketplace in Baghdad? Surrounded by troops, helicopters and wearing a flak jacket... then declaring Iraq to be a nice place to visit? What do you think he learned? As far as I'm concerned, they can do just as well by staying home. That way they can avoid the propaganda machine 'on the ground'.
