Yep, the American people are crying out for tax relief...
"In Rhode Island, South Dakota, Louisiana, Oregon and, most of all, Nevada, taxes from casinos, slot machines at racetracks and lotteries make up more than 10 percent of overall revenues, according to a new report. In Delaware, West Virginia, Indiana, Iowa and Mississippi, gambling revenues are fast approaching 10 percent. "
And why do they need tax relief? So they can spend it at the casino!
I do have to wonder though...South Dakota?
Well it's there money to spend however foolishly they wish. If you don't think so I'll be coming to your home to take some of your possesions to give to the poor.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to relax a little...In the grand scheme of things, my comments on taxes and gambling don't amount to very much at all. They give me a little bit of pleasure and that seems right, after all, it is my opinion and my blog.
ReplyDeleteNO YOU RELAX!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding....
Gambling and the lotto is a tax on the dumb and/or mathmaticly challenged.
Of course it is...and my original comments were meant to poke some fun at those who gamble and then complain bitterly about the taxes they have to pay.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of South Dakota (I was), they are smart enough to now take 50% of the gambling revenue from the casinos, up from a previous 37%.
50%! Nothing wrong with that. I hear the Native Americans crying on TV about how they aren't treated like other businesses in the State. Well okay then let's allow competition from private non indain interest and see if the Indians would rather have it that way. I'm betting they'd be okay with not being treated like other businesses (which they just aren't).
