Cheney Seeks CIA Exemption to Torture Ban

Cheney Seeks CIA Exemption to Torture Ban
It has been proven, innumerable times, that torture does not provide reliable information (duh!). It only provides sick gratification for the torturer. I guess we now know more about Bush, Cheney and this administration than we wanted to...

  1. Actaully certain types of torture do work and it is documented. Allienating people works real good and doesn't require removing finger nails (which doesn't work).

I think it is bad policy all the way around regardless but I do recognize that certian procedures are quite affective.

  2. Alienation is not torture. And torture has never provided reliable information. It exists only to feed the depraved minds of a few.

  3. It sure is torture, ever been to survival school? There are different forms of torture. Ever read a newspaper from your home town that say's you family has been killed in a car crash? How about no sleep for three days. Some torture does work when it is meant to weaken the mind. I think you are talking about pulling off finger nails, beatings, electrocutions, etc. You are generalizing not taking into account psycological warfare which is very much torture, just ask Manuel Noriega.

  5. Hmmm, the money changers...... Now whom did Jesus call blind scribes? Ever read the prophet Nahum? The balance between justice and mercy is a tough one. I hear what you are saying, I do believe there are degrees however.
