My enemies, the crows, have returned to feast on pecans. There are large flocks flying all around this area as they look for the last harvest to raid. I don’t think that many pecans that are ripe enough to pick, but the ones they seem to be going after are on the top branches and must have ripened first. I’m not climbing up there to check, and I can’t really complain, as I have plenty of pecans already. The little pecan tree out in front, a Mohawk variety has already produced a large crop and the Mehan pecan, out in back, still has plenty of nuts on it, despite the crows.
I hear you Steve, I have the biggest crows I've ever seen ripping my garbage bags apart making a heck of a mess. I am going to place the trash towrds the back of my property and bring out the old 12 gauge. I forgot what it is like to live with all this wildlife. We have deer, moose, coyotes, fishers, etc, and we live on a costal island. Where I want to eventually but my house is thick with black bears.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked yet, but are you posting any pictures?
ReplyDeleteNot yet Steve, soon I hope. I am using a new laptop without the software. That and I only have dial up living on an island
