Critics

Friday, once again. The week rolls on and the news pours in. What would life be like without all of this fascinating news? I can’t imagine it; and apparently I won’t ever have to experience it. The internet and news sources seem to be growing exponentially.

This morning, the only reliable form of communication is the internet, via satellite. Our phone line was being worked on most of the day yesterday and once we had a dial tone again, I thought that was the end of the matter. Then we called Jill and she reported that the caller ID displayed on their phone was for someone they had never heard of? So Laurae tried calling our phone from the cell phone and couldn’t get a ring. A little while later, Bill called us, but he had dialed the other person’s number, the one displayed with the caller ID. I have a feeling that this may take a while to get sorted out. Perhaps it’s time to consider doing without a phone line (POTS) and go to cell phone only. Pro: One phone bill. Con: Sound quality is terrible. Pro: Voice messaging built in. Con: Service is inconsistent and expensive. Maybe it’s a sign of old age, but I really liked phone service before deregulation. Whose idea was that?

And in the news, our acting governor has delivered his custom made speech and the critics are poring over it now. Those critics are from both sides of the aisle so in that respect, Arnold is uniting what was once a very partisan legislature. From what I have read, Arnold has tossed a large amount of money into the pool and now the small time politicians are circling it like sharks, each wanting a big bite of it. Perhaps that’s Arnold’s plan? To get the politicians so focused on obtaining a big chunk of money, that they forget to attack him for awhile, giving him some room to maneuver for the upcoming elections.
