Another thought: perhaps it’s time for the draft once more. If we’re all so excited about changing regimes and building nations, then we should be willing to share in the task. All of us. And that means serving in the armed forces if necessary. The all volunteer force is fine for peace time, but the president says we are at war. Perhaps we should act like it.
