Saturday morning and the wind is howling! Although I was wrong about yesterdays forecast…wait a second, I wasn’t wrong at all! It was the weatherman that made the error; we had beautiful weather yesterday. Anyway, back to today…the forecast now calls for “a steady rain early...then remaining cloudy with a few showers. High 57F. S winds shifting to W at 15 to 25 mph.”
Rain, I like, as that will help to fill the pool. I’m filling it slowly as I want to be certain that the repair will hold and I don’t want to draw down the well too far. So I’m filling it by running the hose for just a few hours each day.
I just heard a very odd sound. I turned on the outside lights but didn’t see anything at first; now I see that the wind has knocked over my ladder and I must have heard it scraping against the wall as it fell. It has landed on the fig tree, so as soon as it’s light enough, I will have to go out and see what kind of damage has been done.
With this wind and rain (forecast) it looks like my original plan of doing some pruning today will just have to wait. The roses and the orchard will take more than a few days to prune and the weather should improve next week.
