Thursday morning once again. I think that the weather is turning and we can expect some sunshine later today. That would be nice! I’m really getting tired of the gray winter days and a dose of sunshine, maybe 3 or 4 days worth; that would be invigorating.

My leaking pool has occupied my thoughts for the past week. The contractor that built the pool originally no longer services vinyl pools. After some investigation, I went searching for a pool repairman yesterday and found one in Red Bluff at Mike’s Pools; he has twenty years of experience dealing with in-ground vinyl pool repairs. He came down to look and quickly spotted the hole in a creased corner of the vinyl. It appears that I must have ripped it when I used my new pool brush a little too vigorously. He thinks that the liner probably has another year or so of life and then it would be time for another one. Cost; $2,000. In the meantime, I am having him install a pool sweep and pump to help keep the pool clean.

Well, so much for the chances of sunshine…the latest forecast tells me that we won’t see any sun until Sunday. How appropriate.
