Film at 11

Sunday is here and so am I. Of course. With coffee close at hand I am trying to make sense of the world, as reported by my news aggregator. But first…

At this hour, there is a silver glow on the eastern horizon and Venus still shines brightly in the midst of it. The bats are still awake and I see an occasional dark shape flying by the window in pursuit of mosquitoes. The birds are tuning up their vocal chords for the day to come; lots of noise out there, including the hoot of an owl…but he’s about to go to bed, joining the bats in the barn next door. This is summertime at its best; with the window open wide and watching the dawn arrive. Listening as well.

The news? Well, it’s mostly of World War III and I’m not ready for that this morning. I think I will check back later and perhaps there will be something noteworthy to read. And to comment on…
