Web news… I’m slowly getting back into the website creation business with Coffee Cup software. It’s not perfect software but it is fairly easy to use. (And it’s cheap!) I need “easy” because I discovered that most of what I knew of HTML has been made obsolete by the rise of XHTML and other programming languages. (When did that happen?) I even had to order a book so that I could try catching up with the technology.
Along with the website software, I had to find a good FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program to upload the pages to the websites. I have tried out 4 different ones so far and it looks like Coffee Cup wins again with their FTP software. And it’s $5 cheaper than the competition. Yes, some free software is available but I found that I no longer have the inclination to work really hard to understand it. I like it simple and very intuitive.
Now if I could just figure out how to make a website refresh itself on a viewer’s computer…I remember that there was a way to force that to happen, but it looks like I will have to wait for the book. Bah! Old age!
