We were there...

Yes, we took some time yesterday to take a walk in the park; the park that everyone in Chico loves to hate.

The dollars spent on the park ($2m? $3m? or was it $4m?) seemed to have been spent mostly on concrete. Overall, the park is pretty bland. So bland that I couldn't even get indignant. But why should I? I live in Orland and so I don't have much, if anything at all, invested in it. The only thing I saw that really disturbed me was the very tacky Veterans Memorial...obviously added at the last moment, when someone, a local 'decider', thought a park should have something patriotic in it.

Sure, the 'back-in' parking is silly, but what else can you expect from local government? And once again; I'm from Orland so what do I know?
