I have my chores done…some of them, and so we’re free to drive down to
And we’ll be taking the truck on our trip as the VW is going in for ‘emergency surgery’. We received a scary letter from the VW dealer telling us that the timing belt is about to fail (70,000 miles?) and severe engine damage can result from this. Remember when cars used ‘timing gears’, which rarely failed? Most cars went to the crusher with their timing gears intact. But, there’s no money in that is there?
I finally found the parts necessary to complete my drip system for the honeysuckle and potato vines. The guy in the orange vest at Home Depot told me that a part from the Toro watering system might possibly work in the Rain Drip system. And since I have been all over town looking for this one part, I decided to believe him. Now all I have to do is to stop worrying that the part in question will fail while we are gone.
I’m thinking that next time I buy sprinkler parts, it will be on-line. Where I can look at the catalog and know exactly what I need…and if it’s available. That sure beats standing shoulder to shoulder with other frustrated shoppers in the drip irrigation section of the local big box store.
