G-Earth

I was wandering around the world this afternoon, using Google Earth. I made some stops in places I had actually been; Anchorage and Whittier in Alaska, Hilo in Hawai'i. Then I decided to wander over to Baghdad. Scary. Yes, I know it's not the real thing, but it still feels odd to cruise the virtual airspace above this city. And Google Earth now allows users to post photos of various places on the map. So when I saw an interesting title, "Bldg Exploded Here", I would click on the icon and see the photo, relating it to what I saw on the aerial view.
And as I 'flew' in to Baghdad, I was struck by a familiar feeling...it's very much like flying into Las Vegas. Except...no pools!

Hmmm? It looks peaceful enough.
