It's 4:30 and

Life goes on. The cat is sitting in the window and I have my first cup of coffee in hand. All before 5. And I’m looking at a ‘waning crescent’ moon…not much light left in it. Also, the computer is low on ‘virtual’ memory and has told me so. Time to shut it off and give it a 15 second rest.

My computer has been rebooted and now I can wander… and read the overnight mail.

One of the first headlines I see is from the LA Times…

U.S. has a duty to stay, Iraqi says

“Predicting chaos if the Americans leave too soon, the foreign minister also dismisses rumors of a plan to oust Maliki.”

I have to agree. We do need to stay. And fix everything we broke. I think Colin Powell said the same thing. Oh, I forgot; they got rid of him…

The New York Times has the same story.

U.S. Envoy Offers Grim Prediction on Iraq Pullout

Ryan C. Crocker and the Iraqi foreign minister are warning that the departure of American troops could lead to a regional conflict that could draw in Iraq’s neighbors.”

On a gentler note; the twins had their first swimming lessons yesterday and it went as expected. It’s always fun to see how the personality type we are born with determines how we meet life. Abby meets it head-on. Steven; cautiously. Twenty years from now, it will be the same.
