Pool Time

The next two weeks should prove interesting. The twins are here for their first swimming lessons at the municipal pool in Orland so we are the designated baby sitters. They arrived last night and we got in some quality pool time with them before the mosquitoes arrived with the night air. I can only pity the poor swimming instructors; Abby is fearless! She simply ‘knows’ that I will catch her and she jumps from the edge of the pool without hesitation. Scary! And a darn good reason for her to have lessons. Steven? He examines all of the possibilities before setting foot in the water. Good boy!

And...The ‘Bird Cannons’ started firing early this morning. There are peach and plum orchards nearby and the acetylene cannons are set to automatically go off every few minutes and scare the birds away from the ripening fruit. It usually takes me a day or two before I get used to the sound. I wonder if the birds do?
