So much news! And most of it’s related to the bridge collapse in Minnesota. Since I am one of those people that becomes nervous when crossing bridges, I am somewhat vindicated. Yes, bridges do fall down. And depending upon a bureaucracy, which must make and meet budgets, to inspect and maintain them is foolish. It seems as if every other headline points to another state government that must confess that it too has deficient bridges.
Bridge collapse spotlights America's deferred maintenance
About one-quarter of America’s 577,000 bridges were rated deficient in 2004. By Ron Scherer Question: what if these were airplanes, and not bridges? They both carry the public to their destinations. The only difference is the height off of the ground.
Speaking of budgets, the irresponsible legislators in California have delayed the budget process to the point where it is beginning to hurt the ordinary people, the ones that elected them. Why do we allow this? And why do we keep reelecting the same bozo’s? They do this every year. Well, I have a theory…it’s only a theory of course, but I think the legislators are actually aliens from another planet. Yes, it’s true! They have come here to conquer us, slowly but surely. At election time, they send out mind molding rays from their secret headquarters, in Sacramento, that soften the brains of the voters. So be sure to make yourself a ray blocking hat just before the next election. Aluminum foil will work. (Write me for details and a pattern…only $19.99) If we all do this, we can change the outcome of the election. See you at the polls!
