Idaho Senator Says He Regrets Guilty Plea in Restroom Incident
By Patti Murphy and David Stout

Senator Larry E. Craig said that he regretted his guilty plea in connection with an airport restroom incident and he accused an Idaho newspaper of hounding him.

Let’s see… he ‘regretted’ his guilty plea. Would it be fair to ask him why he did plead guilty? Did he not understand the question?

“How do you plead?”

“Guilty, your honor.”

“Oops! My bad… Did I say guilty? Can you repeat the question?”

I loved the details of this story. It was almost laughable. He did not mean to peek through the crack where the door meets the stall wall and make hand gestures indicating he wanted sex. All the gestures, peeking and footsie playing was just an accident. Then to make it all go away, plead guilty? He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is he? But he has been a politician for a long time, so maybe it all makes sense.

  2. It would make sense if you remember "...Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll. Alice's adventures were a commentary on the politics of the day. They still apply.
