What I thought was a cloudy sky this morning has turned out to be a fire. This one is the Moonlight Fire and it really has the valley covered with smoke.
We were enjoying dinner at Plumas Pines when we noticed the smoke coming from across the lake. It is interesting that the fire is just in the mountains above me, yet there is absolutely no smoke in Susanville, Westwood or the lake. I guess the valley floor is sucking it all down!
Actually it would be the northeast winds blowing...Glad to hear that it's not up there as I'm heading there tomorrow. My car was covered in ashes this morning....Today you can smell it as well. Odd considering how far away it is.....
Oops, now the smoke lies across the lake and the golf course. Rumor has it, you can't even see across the lake. Sorry Sheesh. The news just cut across the radio station: 8% contained and already burning 26,000 acres. Ouch.
