Southwest Airlines has caved. The so-called, 'classless' airline now discriminates. They have a new Business class and they get automatic 'A' boarding passes. And now members of the Rapid Rewards club also get 'A' passes with 16 roundtrips in a year. Which leaves the rest of us, where? In the back of the plane and in the middle seat!
Well, I really do like driving...
I haven't flown since 1997, when on a flight from Tulsa to Sacramento we were packed in like sardines and included a connection in Dallas that required sprinting a half mile to make the next flight. Unless it's an emergency I prefer a leisurely drive stopping at all the good restaurants and seeing the sights.
ReplyDeleteI think it was 1997 when I started flying more often; it was part of my new job. (I guess I was taking up your slack) I usually flew about 4 roundtrips a month and within a year, I dreaded the Monday morning commute to the airport.
ReplyDeleteI loved flying in the 60's and 70's. But it's no longer fun and so we fly only when needed. Fly for fun? An oxymoron.
