Open Your Eyes

I have a new book to read, Commander in Chief, by Geoffrey Perret. I’m only about 100 pages into it, but it has been eye opening to say the least. Reading the files and letters that have been kept out of public scrutiny for all of these years, makes history come alive again for the Truman years. It’s amazing to me that we have made it this far after being led by so many people that were as dumb as fence posts. In fact, Harry could easily be compared to W, only without the mean streak that seems to run in that family. Harry wasn’t much for facts if they got in the way of what he wanted to do.
