What an interesting day. Over the weekend I had received a comment on a blog post from a distant relative. An unknown relative. Mr. LaVerne Riddle wanted me to give him a call and so I did, According to what he told me, he is the grandson of a great uncle of mine. I’m not particularly well versed in the ins and outs of genealogy and I don’t always have the right title for a distant relative. His grandfather was William Riddle and my great grandmother was Hattie Letha, William’s sister. All very confusing for me to read as the previous generation used some of the same names. Of course I have a blog on the subject. And that’s where LaVerne spotted the name he was looking for.
Do I go back to my genealogy research? Probably not. It requires a lot of time and energy to do it right. I will fill in the blanks with anything that LaVerne Riddle might be able to provide and then go back to ‘fishing’ as I was. If you do a Google search for some of the family names, ultimately, you will run across my family blog and that’s a ‘nibble’. The power of the internet.
