Heavenly

Interesting. Google has done it again. Somehow, Google Books is able to give you reviews and selected text (sometimes) from the books in its database. I spotted it yesterday when I posted something about a book I had just read. Do a book search and if a ‘limited preview’ is available, you can actually read a fair portion of it. Very nice. And here’s what Google has for The Children’s Blizzard. Very cool. I’m currently using Shelfari to create a visual book list on my Good Eats blog, but it’s actually a social network and, to be honest, I’m not really all that social. I just like the cover pictures that it provides.

And even more interesting… I spotted the Nancy Pearl Book Lust site. (it’s an RSS feed as well) Ms Pearl is a librarian and that’s my favorite kind of people. I will never forget the librarian that started me on a lifetime of enjoying books. I only wish I could remember her name? Well, if I ever get to that place where all good librarians go, I will have to look her up and thank her.
