Some comedy can be found in listening to the economists and government ‘experts’ as they dance around the R word. It’s really sort of silly. You can say Recession and the sky won’t fall. It has already fallen. Get over it. Now is the time to work on fixing our economy, not denying that it might be bent a little bit. We’ve had an economy train wreck because of the failed policies of the bush administration. He’s a lame duck, so now is the time for the politicians to gather some courage and get busy working on the cure for our present condition. And that doesn’t mean more tax cuts for his friends.
But…sigh. It’s election time and so all political courage has been abandoned until sometime after November. It’s all about sound bites and fake indignation. No matter which candidate we are listening to.
I think it's odd that the "supply-siders" insist that huge tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations are best for the economy. Then when we slip toward a recession they go to the "demand-side" (tax rebates for the working class) in an attempt to rescue us.
