No news like old news

I was browsing through my older journals this morning and came across this entry from December 9^th of 2001, “The news is still of the continuing hunt for Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar. The Afghan people are still being fought over by rival groups wanting power now that the Taliban are gone. It’s a tribal society, very poor and uneducated. So what does the fighting accomplish? Nothing, it only hurts.”
