This and That

At last. I have an appointment to see the physical therapist about the piriformis syndrome at 9 this morning. Pity him; I’m expecting a miracle and he better deliver one! The first thing I have to do before I see him is to arm myself with all the knowledge that I can about this syndrome. Knowledge is so powerful and we have access to so much of it. I didn’t say wisdom. That comes later, if ever. And this wouldn’t have been possible 30 years ago. Heck, 20 years ago! What wonderful times we live in…really!

Since I have been spending a lot of time in a chair, I’ve been reading like crazy. And one book that I found fascinating was With God On Our Side, by Michael Weinstein and David Seay. Having seen the military mind in action before, I don’t doubt any of the events chronicled here. The same with the Evangelical mindset. I’ve seen it. Capital C Christians allied with the Pentagon general staff spells trouble for certain. And guess where it comes from? The same place every buck stops these days. The White House! But don’t take my word for it, read it. I found my copy at the library.

I was wandering around the internet yesterday afternoon and found this piece of worry on the cab drollery site, “Replacing every member of the existing administration with decent, functional, sane personnel, should be our immediate goal on accessing the White House.” It’s an admirable goal. But can it happen in Washington? Where will they find these people? And so many of them?
