Woot! -

One Day, One Deal

So where was Woot back in 1990?

From my journal, August of 1990…

“…I’m using Pro-Write software here at work and using it on a brand new Everex 286 computer… I guess I have always been fascinated by computers, or ever since I first saw one. Laurae brought a new Apple II_e home from Janesville school one weekend and I became fascinated by it. I was really sorry to see her have to take it back to school. Now I use one at work and one at home. (An Epson Equity II, 286 processor a 40 MB hard drive and 12 MB of RAM)”

The Equity II is out in the garage. Cost me $2,500 back in 1990. What’s that worth in today’s dollars? $4049.22

Look at the size of those floppy drives!

I remember those big floppies. It usually took about 10 of them to install a new program and an hour or two to do it.

  2. And you really had to want that new program. With only 40MB of hard drive, you thought about it before installing.
