The new computer arrived as scheduled and not a day early, as I hoped it might. Strange; it came preloaded with IE6 and then overnight, it downloaded and upgraded to IE7. OK, the computer is here; now comes the hard part. I need to connect it all together in a network. That’s something I used to be able to do when everything was hard wired with Cat 5 cables and hubs. And Windows NT operating systems. Now we have 3 computers and a printer that need to talk to each other, plus a few other attached devices. The older laptop is now sitting in the kitchen and though that’s only about 80’ away from the wireless router, I get a low signal strength reading. Do I need a better router or just a better wireless card for the laptop? I really want to be able to take the laptop into the garage and use it there. Or, maybe my neighbor’s wireless connection is available from within the garage? Hmm? Could be! OK, I have questions and that’s what Google is for…
