raises drought alert: More districts to follow as spring comes up dry - sacbee.com
I must tell you that I'm a devoted fan of landscapes without grass. When we lived in Roseville, we removed our lawns and planted 'plants'. All drip irrigated. Sold the lawnmower. It was the best of times! And it looks like it's time for more of the good citizens of Roseville to do the same. Actually...what if we did this everywhere? Imagine how much water could be saved. Remember, grass may be green, but it ain't natural!
Disclaimer of sorts: Yes, I have a lawn now. It came with the house and we have our own well. So we're impacting the Planet Orland in a minor way with our lawn. And if it should die? What a shame!
