So Sweet!

Here it comes! The first over 90° day is forecast for Tuesday of next week. That will have every tree in the orchard striving to ripen first. And it already looks like the birds will find plenty to eat this year. The early spring storms didn’t do much to the blossoms and most of the fruit set without any problem.

And speaking of agriculture as I was, it can now be said that I agree with the Decider on something. He vows to veto the ‘Farm Bill’ and I wish him luck. Really. That bill is a collection of the biggest misuses of government funds around, not including the current WOT; or the WOD or Homeland Security or the Office of the Vice President or…OK, let’s just say it’s really bad.

More on agriculture; we were driving out around Dairyville yesterday in search of some local honey that a friend had recommended. We finally found the right fruit stand and bought some raw mint honey and a tiny jar of poison oak honey. It is supposed to offer some protection from the effects of poison oak. Who knew! And raw honey is supposed to offer some relief for allergy sufferers as well. Maybe a teaspoon a day? Gotta be cheaper than Zyrtec!
