Last night, in our study group, the two and three wheel adventures became a topic of conversation as one member arrived on a newly renovated bicycle. What does it mean?
Bicycles are in. Cars are out. Sorry. Seen it all before. The gasoline crunch of the 70’s had people up and about on two wheels, but not for long. Let’s face it, our highways and byways are simply not made for bicycle travel. It’s a brave person (or foolish) indeed who believes that a white line will protect them from the idiot driver with a cell phone jammed in their ear. Existing roads were never designed to carry the two types of traffic and the ‘white line’ just takes needed space away from the automobile. Not that I’m against bicycle riding; I’m not! I just wish it were safer.
