Heat Stroke

72° outside. Yes, it’s warm this morning and will become warmer still as the day goes on. Hey! It’s the middle of August and it’s always hot at this time of year. And it’s the perfect time of year to go back to school. What? Are they crazy? This is what they have done here on the Planet Orland. This is day #4 of the school year. In all of the valley, I believe it’s the earliest starting date.

So why do I care? We have no children in school. I guess it’s the idiocy of the starting date that gets me riled up. Wait one month and the temperatures will decrease and the schoolroom AC units won’t have to run as long and as hard. The cost of running the schools will decrease. The children will be more attentive. Well, maybe. And at the other end of the school year, the month of June is never as warm as it is in August; so stay awhile.
