Just Wondering

Although I’m looking forward to a new computer with all the stability that it promises, I’m also wondering how I will manage the transition from old to new. Although I am a vocal proponent of ‘change’, even change just for the sake of change, changing my computer is right there in my personal danger zone. Some things shouldn’t change. And as I look around the landscape of my computer, I have to wonder if all of these conveniences I have plugged into that landscape will make the transition? Like WipeOut; a little utility that I use all of the time without even thinking about it. Just grab the edge of your screen and pull it to the right and your desktop is revealed. Will that work with Vista? And my cursor; I’m using CursorXP. And although I’ve found a place to download the program; will it work with Vista? I’ve been using my fancy cursor for about 7 years now. I would hate to lose it.

And I have an older version of Visio. I don’t use that often, but I have so many great add-ons for it that I would hate to give it up just because it doesn’t play well with Vista.

But, on a positive note; I have far too many programs that are cluttering the landscape simply because I was curious. And I will leave them behind without a second thought. Bring it on!
