Yawn!

Awake, but barely. We’re getting down to basics around here and that means less caffeine. The large pot of coffee is not brewing this morning; instead, I have used my mini-French press to make two small cups to savor. After that it’s tea.

Is it the economy that’s making me change my coffee drinking habits? It certainly wasn’t deliberate, but I would assume that the state of the economy, after Monday morning’s Wall Street disaster, had a part to play in my decision making. I think we all feel that way now.

Or, it could have simply been the price of coffee on top of all of the other rising grocery prices. $10+ for the large can. We had gone shopping yesterday and the prices for everything, including coffee, were certainly depressing. Probably enough so that tea became the attractive drink for an early morning pick me up.

If tea doesn’t wake me up, the internet certainly will. The Crabby Old Lady speaks this morning and asks some good questions regarding the current state of the political ads from the McCain camp. These are the questions that come to my mind as well…

“The larger questions are, what kind of people even think up such an ad? What is the underlying character of a person who approves it? And if they lie about something as easy to dispute as this, what will they do when they are in power?”

Exactly. What kind of people are they? And now that we know what kind they are, why would we want them in charge…of anything?
