According to the news services, and I have plenty to choose from; Ms. Rice is telling a most confusing tale as she scolds the European nations. First, she says that a little torture might have helped to save the Europeans from terrorists, but those CIA prisons don’t really exist and if they did exist, we wouldn’t use them for torture. What? Now if I were a European head of state, I would want to look very hard at Ms. Rice’s track record when it comes to telling the truth…or even knowing what the truth is. In her previous life, she was a failed and disgraced Soviet “expert” with the State Department. In her new life as a “Bush Buddy”, she has spouted the administration line at all times, even after her former boss, Powell, has admitted that mistakes were made. Have you noticed that Mr. Powell is no longer newsworthy? Why is that? I have a feeling that history will not treat Ms. Rice very well at all. That’s OK, she deserves it. Hey! It’s not torture! And even if it were, it really didn’t happen.
