The News Hour

Monday has arrived once again and I’m in my usual place and at the usual hour. I have been scanning all of the news feeds on my aggregator…I love that word! Aggregator. A Mark VII stainless steel aggregator with Turbo power! Now that I think about it, I have always loved the words that came from the latest technology. Bluetooth, quark, Planck length, neutrino, Bucky ball, and of course…the famous Calabi-Yau shape. What fun!

Surprising, but there’s not that much news out there? Maybe my Mark VII Aggregator needs a kick in its stainless steel rear.

I guess I can report that Christmas will be arriving on time here. The tree is now decorated and about 75% of the other decorations are in place. With a completely new look to the front room; we have to make decisions as to what goes on our new mantel. And the tree is in a different place this year, which complicated things. I will work on the entry way décor today and when that is finished, I think we’re ready.

And while we were looking for all of the important decorations (we had lost a box…?) I came across the box that held Christmas items belonging to my sister, Julie. It was great to be able to include some of them in our décor. We also found that she had saved some Christmas cards from the years 1982 and 83. Sure enough, there was our own card, a handmade item from 1983. We were living in Janesville at that time. Good memories. But isn’t that what Christmas should be? Good memories? I know…Christmas is comprised of many things; some more important than others, but memories should be right there in the top 10.

Take some pictures of your decorations as well as those of Julie's. I would love to see them.
