One More
Monday morning and the rains have stopped for awhile. From what I have read, the storm is now moving south and we will no longer have to deal with it. It was a good wakeup storm for many, as it exposed the dangerous condition of our levee system. But will anyone do more than offer thanks that a disaster was averted? After the rain stops would be a good time for our acting governor to propose a bold plan to unify all levee maintenance and construction under one authority. Let me add #11 to my list of forecasts…The state will ignore the warnings and in the summer of 2006, when least expected, major levees will fail and vast areas of the flood plain around Sacramento will be under water. Arnold will get a chance to use the “Deep Water Snorkel” option on his Hummer.
