Not the best of news...

“California's economy added 18,300 payroll jobs in January, while the number of unemployed people looking for work fell by 151,000 compared to the same month last year, the state Employment Development Department said Friday.
But Butte County lost 1,500 payroll jobs during the month, according to the EDD, falling to 92,400. Glenn County dropped 1,010 jobs, to 10,130, while Tehama County fell 600 jobs to 23,890.

The figures don't include farm workers and the self-employed.

Unemployment took a big jump locally. Butte's rate went from 5.8 percent to 7 percent; Glenn, 7.6 percent to 10 percent; and Tehama, 5.8 percent to 7.2 percent, according to the EDD.”
