Smart

Bombing?

Obviously this UN official does not know what he's talking about...everyone knows that Israel uses "smart" bombs and they never make mistakes.

  1. Oh come on Steve you aren't really this naive are you?, You do understand what guerrilla warfare is?

War sucks because bad things happen, combatants hide amongst civilians, use them for political gains, etc. Both sides of this skirmish are partly justified in their actions. It is not a simple or easy situation there.

I think America needs to have a hands off approach to Israel but then the political power Israel has in the USA is incredible, especially amongst liberals and Christians who fall into the dispensationalist camp.

It is interesting that the area Israel is attacking are the Shiite parts of the nation and city and not the Christian or Sunni areas (where Hezbollah is not supported or aided). I have found amongst my Arab Christian friends that while they deplore Israel for the treatment of Arab and Palestinian Christians they understand that Israel has been forced into launching an offensive that it does not want.

  2. I think killing civilians for any reason...any! Is wrong. Call me naive if you wish. War is wrong, it's always wrong. But then again, no one has ever tried the alternatives...yet they say that their hands are tied and war is the only answer.

    Israel is killing civilians.
    Hezbollah is killing civilians.
There is not an iota of difference between the two.

  3. To Flee or to Stay? Family Chooses Too Late and Pays Dearly
    By HASSAN M. FATTAH
"A southern Lebanon family fleeing to the north was struck by an Israeli rocket minutes after they departed, killing three."

    Naive on their part?

  4. Fataly ignorant is proabably the best term. Damn Hezbollah for bringing this upon them.

Do you read the OT accounts of what God had the Jews do?

War is sometimes an answer but not always. I don't think you are naive just believing in something that does not exist (a perfect world). My hope is in the ressurection, the new Jerusalem, Christ who makes all things new. I do applaud you for your empathy. Empathy is a gift lacking in the world today. Let's pray for God's mercy on both sides of this circle of violence.
