Buying and Selling

Saturday has arrived and I’m up early. Nothing new there. When we were at Alex’s house in Vashon, we had dinner with his family and during that time the subject of sleeping and sleep loss came up. Julia surprised me by saying that she used “lottery dreams” as a way of getting to sleep. I thought I was the only one that did that! She…and I take the number of fictional dollars won and divide it up into fulfilling all sorts of dreams. The nice thing about this is the fact that it’s so flexible. You can give and take millions of dollars in an instant. Properties that you bought can change location nightly. It usually takes just a few minutes of lottery dreaming to turn into real dreams and you’re sound asleep. I even have favorite lottery dreams that start out with a theme that I have developed over time.

This morning, the lottery didn’t help to get me back to sleep. Is it an aging thing? We seem to hear more and more about sleep apnea these days and that’s also a possibility. I prefer to think that it’s simply aging. And I take note of the great number of prominent people who only slept a few hours each night. I understand that Einstein was one of those.

And since I was up early, the morning’s first task was to try out the second of three offerings from Folgers Coffee. The coffee for the morning tasting is Folgers Gourmet Selections Lively Columbian Medium Roast. You can read about it here.

After trying out the coffee and writing the review, I spent a little bit of time looking around the “For sale” section of Craig’s List this morning as I was looking for a cheap automatic bread maker. And sure enough, I found one, for only $25. It looks good and supposedly it was only used once. In fact, it looks exactly like the one that Alex bought at a garage sale. Should I buy it? Is it worth a trip to Paradise?

I have a Wanted ad in Craig’s List for a used overhead projector but haven’t had any response yet. I may need to move the ad to another category and try again.

    Dad,

Please try mine first. It's a Zojirushi. We got it as a wedding present. Have enjoyed it over the years - but presently it's moved from the counter to a cupboard!
